It’s not what I expect from a number 22 bus

Maroon and shiny
Bought for a job
The Edinburgh bus
Costs a few bob

The blood of the city
With arterial routes
Moves the people
And their goods

But one day
To my surprise
Couldn’t believe
My very own eyes

Said Jennifer
What’s all the fuss
It probably just
An airport bus

My heart calmed down
I took my seat
At the back of the bus
No easy feat

A baggage area
Taking up space
For passengers
In their place

Comfort I expect
For all of us
It’s not what I expect
From a number 22 bus
