It’s a beautifully sunny day. Today I’m speaking to you from Stob Dearg. The top of Buachaille Etive Mor. To the west is Buachaille Etive Beag and to the north, on the top of Ben Nevis, a structure that has taken 5 years to build. The saviour of planet earth some have called it. The count down is already underway and in a few more minutes we will see if the scientists were right. There are a few other people around me. Each one watching their mobiles getting ready for what…we don’t really know. If it goes wrong you may not be hearing from me again. If it goes right planet earth may just be moved out of the path of ar11179. The idea seems simple. We accelerate our orbit a very small amount just enough to move us out of the path of total destruction. Enough chatter lets listen to the count down. Five, Four, Three, Two, One…
